Eccovision Acoustic Pharyngometry
Eccovision® Acoustic Diagnostic Imaging Acoustic Pharyngometer is a diagnostic system used for the objective assessment of the upper respiratory airway. Eccovision utilizes a patented, state of the art acoustic signal processing technology to provide graphical representations of airway patency as a function of distance from the airway opening.
Eccovision® Acoustic Pharyngometry® is a dynamic test that determines dimension of the oral airway past the glottis while the patient is breathing. Computer processing of the incident and reflected sound signals provides an area-distance curve representing the lumen together with minimal cross- sectional area and volume. The technique is minimally invasive, results are precise and reproducible and can be obtained rapidly and repeatedly.
Clinical & physiological applications include:
- Demonstration of structural and functional abnormalities of the pharynx and glottis
- Airway response to therapeutic intervention
Site of airway obstruction
- Effect of Mandibular Advancement on the hypopharynx
Graphically displays changes in the oral airway with lower jaw advancement
- Patients and dentists can see the effect an oral appliance has on airway size
- Allows dentists to view the airway for treatment and referal
System Comes Complete With:
Eccovision® Control Unit Custom hardware and software Wave Tube and Electronic Platform Mouthpieces Filter Strips
